The Old Town Business & Professional Association (OTBPA) will host a networking Happy Hour at MeggRolls (Mon. 11/05 at 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM, MeggRolls, 107 N. Fayette St. Registration Required.).

 

The Potomac Yard Metrorail Implementation Work Group (PYMIG) will hold a meeting to provide Potomac Yard Metrorail Station project up-dates on the project design, and amendment to the Development Special Use Permit (DSUP) (Mon. 11/05 at 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Dr. Oswald Durant Memorial Center, 1605 Cameron St.).

 

The Old and Historic Alexandria District Board of Architectural Review (BAR) will hold its regularly scheduled public hearing. Items of interest include a request for new construction at 1101 North Washington Street by Toll Mid-Atlantic LP Company (Wed. 11/07 at 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM, City Hall, Council Chamber, 301 King St.).

 

The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Salute to Veterans awards event celebrating the incredible impact that servicemen and servicewomen have had on Alexandria. A big, hearty “congratulations!” to Capitol Post for receiving the award for “Business Empowering & Hiring Veterans” (Thurs. 11/08 at 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM, The Carlyle Club, 2050 Ballenger Ave. Registration Required.).

 

The Eisenhower Partnership will hold their annual meeting, with keynote speaker Rob Kerns, City of Alexandria Department of Planning & Zoning Division Chief for Development, speaking on What’s in the Pipeline for Eisenhower Avenue (Thurs. 11/08, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM, Alexandria Renew, 1800 Limerick St., 6th Floor, Registration Required.).

 

The West End Business Association (WEBA) will host a networking Happy Hour at Los Tios Grill of Van Dorn (Thurs. 11/08 at 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM, Los Tios Grill, 241 S Van Dorn St. Registration Required.).

 

The Alexandria Planning Commission will hold a second November meeting where items of interest include a Development Special Use Permit and related approvals for Potomac Yard Landbay H – West Silverstone, allowing the construction of two homes for the elderly/life care facility buildings, with ground floor retail on the south building, including special use permit requests for bonus height for the provision of affordable housing and Recommendation: Eisenhower West-Landmark Van Dorn Developer Contribution Policy (Thurs. 11/08, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM, City Hall, Council Chamber, 301 King St.).

 

The Alexandria City Council will hold their annual retreat (Sat. 11/10, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Alexandria Renew, Education Center & Meeting Space, 1800 Limerick St.).
