2024 Small Business Resiliency Grant Program

Eligible Alexandria small businesses can receive up to $7,000 in grant assistance through the Small Business Resiliency Grant Program. Applications opened Tuesday, May 28, and closed Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Administered by the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC), the program aims to assist businesses in overcoming challenges in accessing essential resources.

ALX B2B Business Association Grants

Business organizations that meet program eligibility requirements were invited to apply for ALX B2B Business Association Grants to support the following activities:

  • Developing or enhancing a strategic plan with a focus on organizational capacity building and long-term sustainability
  • Creating sustainable programming to promote economic recovery and business profitability

Queen Street Corridor Grants

Grants of up to $5,000 were available to certain businesses located within the Queen Street Corridor of Old Town. Applications are now closed.

Alexandria Back to Business All-Weather Grant

AEDP awarded $500,000 in federal CARES Act funding for restaurant, retail, and fitness businesses to “winterize” outdoor business areas.

Return to Earn Grants

Through the Return to Earn Program, the Commonwealth reimbursed up to $500 to award bonuses to up to 25 new employees hired after May 31, 2021. Only Virginia employers with fewer than 100 employees were eligible for funds. The employer must also be incorporated in Virginia, and wages for new hires must be a minimum of $15.00 per hour. The position must be W-2 employment but can be part- or full-time.
