Who we are
The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership (“AEDP”, “us”, “we”, or “our”) operates alexecon.org (the “Site”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, postal address and phone number (“Personal Information”).
AEDP also collects general information about your use of the Website, including Log Data, Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. For example, your IP (Internet Protocol) address is used to gather broad demographic information such as the geographic regions most interested in our site and what type of browser most of our visitors prefer. This information helps us to better maintain and update our site to be the most user-friendly and relevant. IP addresses do not provide us with any identifiable Personal Information, thus keeping visitors anonymous.
AEDP has a strict policy against buying, selling, or sharing mailing lists and donor information. Under this policy, Personal Information provided to AEDP is NEVER shared or sold to any other organization – public, private, or nonprofit. AEDP may permit certain trusted partners to access your information in connection with their performance of services to maintain and operate the Website and certain features on the Website. We do not otherwise disclose any Personal Information or any information about your individual visits to our site except when we believe in good faith (i) that the law requires such disclosure or (ii) that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights and property of AEDP or others.
Like many sites, we use “cookies” to collect information. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookie settings. If you turn cookies off, you may not have access to many features that make your site experience more efficient and some of our services may not function properly. For more information about cookies, please see www.allaboutcookies.org/.
