This week, we are featuring Global Skills X-Change (GSX), a firm that designs, implements, and manages innovative strategies and solutions that enable organizations to leverage people to meet current and future workforce challenges. We had a chat with Dave Wilcox, CEO, to learn more.
AEDP: Tell us a little bit about GSX to get us started.
Dave: Global Skills X-Change (GSX) works with federal agencies and private organizations to define workforce skill and knowledge requirements, and develop tests and assessments in order to measure knowledge and skills to assure that they are aligned and sufficient to meet the performance objectives of the organization. GSX also develops and manages federal and commercial credentialing programs.
AEDP: Can you share the next big project or goal for GSX?
Dave: GSX is implementing an aggressive growth strategy which focuses on leveraging its position in the marketplace and scaling a proprietary enterprise solution to enable organizations to manage change along with a coordinated development of the workforce. The five-year plan also includes the task of continuing to build out GSX’s Mission Critical credentialing strategy.
AEDP: And how would you describe your company culture?
Dave: The typical GSX employee is: ambitious, team-oriented, curious, client-focused, goal-oriented and compassionate.
AEDP: Where do you see GSX in the next year? In the next five years?
Dave: 15 to 20% growth in 2021. 250% growth in 5 years and 400% growth in 10 years. I anticipate more of our business will be driven by scaling our solutions and based less on individual projects.
AEDP: What is your favorite thing about Alexandria?
Dave: It seems like a small town with the benefits of an urban experience. I can walk to my barber, dentist, office, and 20 unique restaurants.
AEDP: Ok finally, why did you decide to locate in Alexandria?
Dave: Two reasons! First, I lived here at the time (and still do). Second, we knew the owners of 1410 King Street before we started the business.
