The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership today announced, in partnership with FedTech and the City of Alexandria, the launch of the inaugural Accelerate ALX cohort.
Chosen through a competitive selection process that drew 41 total applications, the 11 selected companies represent high-growth sectors including defense, aerospace, health tech, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and cybersecurity. Over the coming months, founders will receive individualized mentorship, expert instruction, and opportunities to connect with peers, customers, investors, and the broader innovation ecosystem regionally.
FedTech will administer the program. The company specializes in designing and operating innovation programs for federal agencies, state and local governments, prime contractors, and corporate R&D organizations. FedTech has operated more than 130 custom studios and accelerators, with 120 partner labs across the world, and their alumni companies have raised more than $7.5 billion in investment.
The 11 selected companies are:
- Apex Sensor Labs LLC (Old Town)
Apex Sensor Labs LLC solves the “Smart Home Dilemma”—the forced trade-off between user convenience and data privacy. - The Authentic Consortium (Potomac Yard)
The Authentic Consortium’s Healthcare Informatics AI is called “Triad Health Engine,” and it is a rural-health platform focused on community health intelligence, revenue improvement, and operational support for clinics. It solves the problem of fragmented rural clinic management by helping organizations find missed billing dollars, track grants, stay ahead of compliance deadlines, and monitor local health and supply risks. - Atlas Geo Technologies LLC (Old Town)
Atlas GEO Technologies operates three live geospatial SaaS products that turn location data (mainly crash analytics) into the reports state and local governments need to apply for federal funding, stay compliant, and make better decisions. - Avara AI (Old Town)
Avara is an AI company building a parcel-level digital twin that helps governments understand property values and simulate how planning and policy decisions shape communities. - Barding Defense (West End)
An intelligence and orchestration platform for offensive cyber operations (red teaming, penetration testing). It sits above existing command-and-control frameworks and turns fragmented operator activity into structured, query-able intelligence. - Choros (Arlandria/Chirilagua)
Choros is a paid membership platform built on the psychology of how men actually make friends: small groups, shared activities, and agent-assisted coordination. - Future Energy Resources, LLC (West End)
Future Energy Resources is an infrastructure development company that helps local governments identify and advance opportunities to repurpose underutilized public assets into smaller-scale Edge AI data centers. - Kymberg Consulting (Del Ray)
Kymberg Consulting is developing a low cost, highly reliable and sustainable remotely operated radar that can provide government and commercial customers with surveillance data. - Lola Vision Systems (Relocating from DC)
Lola Vision Systems is a fabless semiconductor company that designs AI system-on-chiplets (SoCs) purpose-built for autonomous machines, paired with compact hardware and software for multi-sensor fusion and orchestration. - Safe on Social Inc (Old Town)
Safe on Social is the operating system for Behavioral Risk Intelligence — the governance infrastructure schools, enterprises, and governments cannot opt out of. The company detects behavioral and digital risk signals before they escalate, automatically documents every governance action as board-ready evidence, and operationalizes prevention, continuously. - Seed Technologies (West End)
Seed Technologies builds two core products: a novel high-DOF robotic hardware system for complex spray processes, and AI software for process planning, path planning, and real-time control.
The cohort is reflective of both the diversity of Alexandria’s neighborhoods as well as its population, with three female founders, three veteran founders, and five founders from underrepresented races or ethnicities. Companies are located in Old Town, the West End, Del Ray/Arlandria/Potomac Yard, and one is relocating from DC to Alexandria.

Accelerate ALX will culminate in a public showcase event in December. The accelerator is the City’s first initiative under ALX Forward targeted at supporting entrepreneurship and innovation and will integrate as appropriate with programming offered through National IQ, the new innovation district in National Landing.
