Alex Cooley

As Business Development Manager with AEDP, Alex works to recruit new companies to Alexandria and supports existing Alexandria businesses with their expansion efforts. Before joining AEDP, Alex held economic and workforce development positions at two of the nation’s largest community colleges, Dallas College and Northern Virginia Community College. No stranger to economic development in Alexandria and northern Virginia, Alex previously served on the Alexandria City Public Schools’ Career and Technical Education Advisory Board and the Alexandria/Arlington Regional Workforce Council. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from UNC Charlotte. He earned the Certified Economic Developer credential from the International Economic Development Council in 2020. In his free time, Alex enjoys camping, traveling, and trying new restaurants in Alexandria.
