Virginia Tech Institute for Advanced Computing

A $2 Billion Investment in Virginia’s Workforce

Announced as part of the incentive package to bring Amazon’s HQ2 to Northern Virginia, the Virginia Tech Institute for Advanced Computing opened in 2025. When completed, the $1 billion, 600,000-square-foot campus will graduate 750 master’s students and host more than 100 doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows annually, providing talent to fill technology jobs throughout Northern Virginia.

The Innovation Campus is all about connectivity. Our location in Alexandria positions us to unite industry, government, and academia in learning and research to shape the way emerging technologies influence society and to diversify the talent in high-tech fields. Diversity isn’t just a core value of our campus- it’s a hallmark of excellence.”

When I read about the campus, it was everything I wanted. The idea of a campus acting as an incubator for fostering ideas and partnering with private companies is a culmination of everything I have pursued in my own career.”
