Request for Proposals
The City of Alexandria, the Carlyle Community Council and the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership are seeking proposals for a firm to design, plan and execute programming as part of the Carlyle Vitality Initiative. The request for proposals can be found on the City of Alexandria’s procurement page, search for bid 799. Proposals are due on December 17, 2018 at 4:00 PM EST.

The Alexandria City Council will hold their regularly scheduled Legislative Meeting where items of interest include AEDP Entrepreneurship Program Funding Proposal, the Proposed City Strategic Facilities Plan, Authorization to Lease with an Option to Purchase 4850 Mark Center Drive, Recommendation from the City Council Naming Committee to Combine the Interim King Street Park and Waterfront Park into One City Park Named Waterfront Park, Proposed Revisions to the Potomac Yard Metrorail Station Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Alexandria and CPYR and Expansion of Public-Private Partnership (P3) Opportunities (Tues. 12/11 at 7:00 PM, City Hall, Council Chambers, 301 King St.).
The Old Town North Urban Design Advisory Committee will hold a meeting where discussion will focus on the redevelopment of 600 N. Royal St., the WMATA Bus Barn (Wed. 12/12, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM, City Hall, Sister Cities Room, 301 King St.)
George Mason University, the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors, and the Northern Virginia Apartment Association are hosting a symposium on the potential impact of the Amazon HQ2 project on the single-family and multifamily market demand, supply, and pricing in Northern Virginia (Weds. 12/12 at 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM, Auditorium at Founders Hall, George Mason University, 3351 N. Fairfax Dr., Arlington, VA 22201. Registration Required.).
A Community Open House on the Landmark Mall Re-Planning Process will be held this week. The open house format will enable participants to interact with printed boards/handouts, staff and Eisenhower West/Landmark Van Dorn Advisory Group members anytime during the two hour window (Weds. 12/12 at 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Brandywine Living, 450 S. Pickett St.).
The West End Business Association will host their regularly scheduled Happy Hour for members and guests (Thurs. 12/13 at 5:30 – 7:30 PM, Taste of Asia, 362 South Picket Street, Registration Required).
The Parks & Recreation Commission will hold a Commission Worksession (Thurs. 12/13 at 7:00 PM, Park Operations, 2900 Business Center Dr.).
The Alexandria City Council will hold their regularly scheduled Public Hearing where items of interest include consideration of a Master Plan Amendment, Rezoning and Coordinated Development District Design plan for 504 South Van Dorn Street; 5650, 5660, and 5730 Edsall Road; and 501 and 611South Pickett Street, a project known as Greenhill / West Alexandria Properties and Development Special Use Permits (DSUP) for the Potomac Yard Metro Station, 1200 N. Fayette Street – Braddock Gateway Phase III and for the construction of a one-story retail building at 2425 Eisenhower Avenue – Block 6C Retail Site Pad (Sat. 12/15 at 9:30 AM, City Hall, Council Chamber, 301 King St).
