The fastest growing tech conference in the nation, Collision, is set to take place April 30-May 3, 2018. From the team behind Web Summit, this New Orleans based conference features CEO’s of fast-growing startups and representatives from large companies. Almost 20,000 attendees from 119 countries will be present.
Among the attendees is the coalition NOVA in NOLA, comprised of the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership (AEDP) and Arlington Economic Development (AED) in support of Northern Virginia startups. Startups chosen by NOVA in NOLA will be featured each week leading up to the conference.
The next startup representing NOVA in NOLA is Give365 – a charitable penny tracker which allows everyone to feel the joy of giving, regardless of income. By rounding up cents on everyday purchases the average user can donate $20 (or more) to their favorite charities each month.
“I believe that Collision, and the perks provided by AEDP, will give me the opportunity to meet like-minded people, potential partners…education, and exposure.” – Lore Burek, Founder of Give365
Burek, who has worked in Alexandria for many years, founded Give365, now with plans for refocus the brand as GiveALX for a hyper-local connection to Alexandria, Virginia. “I am positive my business would not exist without the Northern Virginia region” Burek explained, “Going hyperlocal should give us a repeatable expansion plan, and I’m proud to consider Alexandria as our first focus.” With increased investor interest and a strong plan for growth, Give365 is ready to make the most of this year’s Collision Conference.
Startup companies joining NOVA in NOLA were evaluated based on their current status, future needs, and potential impact on the region. Both Alexandria and Arlington are known for being at the forefront of the regionalism mindset and collaboration within the D.C. area.
